I have two Sienna Brown luncheon plates that are totally mint. I can find no flaws on any of these pieces. The second photo shows the face of one of the plates. All of the plates and saucers have the Wells Art Glazes stamps on their bases. I also have two luncheon plates, each with a chip just below the edge and 2 cup-and-saucer sets that each have a nick on the rim of the cup (see right-hand photo). The nick on the cup's edge is almost directly across from the handle and is visible in the photo. The chips on the plates are not visible from the top (see second photo; the chip on this plate is at 6 o'clock). $12.00 ea. for the mint plates | |||

A pale yellow coloured, Empress-shape teapot in near-mint condition (I say "near-mint" because its two flaws are probably factory, but I'm not sure - see below). The outside of the teapot is beautiful and smooth, with no chips or cracks, even on the delicate spout and handle. On the inside of the teapot, I noticed a strainer built into the teapot itself, something you don't see often on modern pots. Please note the little black spots around the inside rim of the teapot body; these are under the clear glaze & are not visible when the lid is in place. Again, it is marked on the base ART / WELLS / GLAZES. In addition, it is "Made in USA". | ||

Both the batter pitcher and syrup above are rose colored, smooth and beautiful. I found a lid for the syrup too over the summer but it is not pictured YET! All of the pieces are marked. For a detail of the platters marking, see below. |

Please note that there are three pinpricks in the glaze just along the underside rim of the lid. I have examined these closely with my hand lense and do not believe that they are chips. Instead, they look like they are original to the lid's production. The 11" rust platter, shown in the middle and right-hand photos, is chip- and crack-free. It is also marked, but the ink stamp is faint. In the center of the base, there is also a black underglaze smear, the same color as the mark. Sold | ||
