Four Styles of Teacups

Four teacup styles were used during the production of vintage Fiesta, from 1936 to 1972.

  1. The first style had a flat inside bottom with inside rings near the top of the cup. They were produced in the first six vintage colors for about one year until mid-1937.

  2. The second and longest running style is the most common one, produced for over twenty years, with a rounded inside bottom and with the inside rings down almost 1/4" from the upper rim of the cup. Teacup/saucer sets in the original six colors, the 1950's colors and medium green are included in this style.

  3. The third style has no inside rings and was produced through the 1960's, up until about 1968-1969. We find turquoise, red, yellow and medium green cups in this style.

  4. Up until this time, the familiar applied ring handle was common to all three styles but this was changed to a C-shaped handle for the fourth style with the introduction of Fiesta Amberstone and Ironstone. C-handled cups are seen in turquoise, red, yellow, medium green, amberstone, antique gold and turf green.
