In the photo on the right, the arrow points to a factory flaw, an extra bit of glaze low on the side by the handle. I can find no other problems. |

These large black and white teapots were two of the first made in the post86 Fiesta teapot line-up. In the photos above, compare the size of the opening in the black teapot to that of the newer yellow one. It is much larger and that lets us know that the black one was produced during an early run of this shape. Pots with the larger openings were produced in 1986 and were discontinued soon thereafter due to production difficulties with the lids having to span this larger opening - lids tended to warp or be out-of-round when they came from the kilns. |
